Preliminary Results from The X-DNA Inheritance Project

About a month ago I created The X-DNA Inheritance Project to study recombination of the X chromosome. To do this, I requested grandparent/grandchild GEDmatch Kit Numbers submitted via a portal (https://goo.gl/forms/gg2n9SSUUKQSt5KG3).

I’ve received numerous submissions, but I would love to have many more. The preliminary data in this graph is based on 150 submissions (thus analyzing 150 meioses), but I’d like to get the number up to 500 to have more confidence in the data (even though 150 took hours!).

A huge THANK YOU to everyone that has submitted!

Is there a relationship between chromosome 7 and the X chromosome?

No, there’s no relationship. But the two chromosomes are almost the same size, so chromosome 7 is a control in the experiment.

Sorry, I do NOT understand what this study is wanting to find out about. My Uncle had his DNA done for the hhhdna.com project. It proved my mother Deloris Hardin was from the (in)famous Hardin’s who are suppose to have been from France to Canada to Virginia. I had my DNA done by National Geo. But I believed that a female could NOT be connected to ancestors.

Unfortunately I do not have any of my grandparent’s to test. Will a mother/son or brother/sister help in any way?
